RESULTS FROM LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS STUDY ON HOMELAND SECURITY

In a new report for the League of Women Voters,
LSPM|DR finds the public largely unaware of any specifics about homeland security efforts and the USA Patriot Act, and their
effects on civil liberties. While survey data show Americans are willing to give the government more authority and flexibility
in conducting terrorism investigations, our research suggests this is by no means a blank check. In particular, people become
very concerned about adequate checks on law enforcement.

IN WASHINGTON DC SPEAK OUT ON SMOKE-FREE WORKPLACES, RESTAURANTS,
AND BARS

LSPA conducted a poll of likely voters in Washington, DC for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network regarding
a proposed law that prohibits smoking in workplaces, including restaurants and bars. The poll found broad support among
DC likely voters for this new law. The poll even found that these likely voters may even eat out more at DC restaurants
if such a law were in place.
LSPA RELEASES POLL FOR THE ONE CAMPAIGN
December 8, 2004
Today Lake Snell Perry & Associates released a poll for The One Campaign (a coalition of 11
leading relief and development organizations) at a national press conference in Washington, DC.
The poll shows broad support for stepping up US efforts to fight global AIDS and extreme poverty
in President Bush's next four years. Current Bush advisor Mark McKinnon and former White House
spokesperson Mike McCurry described the poll as showing that fighting global AIDS cuts across political
divides in America.
