Tresa Undem has been with Lake Research Partners since 2004, where she works with non-profits, foundations, government agencies, and media campaigns. Tresa specializes in conducting multivariate statistical analyses to examine how messages and arguments influence attitudes and behavior. Tresa conducts research on a variety of policy issues including health reform, implementation, health IT, chronic illness, cancer, quality improvement, Medicaid and CHIP, childhood obesity, LGBT equality, substance abuse, and poverty.

Recent projects include a groundbreaking study for the California HealthCare Foundation on consumer use of and attitudes toward health IT, specifically personal health records (PHRs). The study found that as a result of having a PHR, users say they have taken steps to improve their own health, learned more about their health care, and asked their doctors questions they would not otherwise have asked. Over the past year, Tresa conducted several studies around health reform, including analyzing seniors' attitudes toward reform before, during, and after passage. She is also involved in several studies related to health reform implementation, including projects for the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Prior to joining LRP, Tresa worked as a Senior Research Analyst at Belden, Russonello & Stewart on a number of progressive issues. Tresa holds a master's degree from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. A native of Minnesota (go Vikings!), she received a B.A. in English at the University of Minnesota. She is a member of the American Association of Public Opinion Research, and has been a presenter and discussant at its national conferences. Tresa's favorite hobby is graphic design.
