  Tresa Undem
Vice President

Tresa Undem has been with Lake Research Partners since 2004, where she works with non-profits, foundations, issue advocacy organizations, and media campaigns. Tresa specializes in conducting multivariate statistical analyses to examine how messages and arguments influence attitudes and behavior. Tresa conducts research on a variety of progressive policy issues including childhood obesity, poverty, chronic illness, LGBT equality, quality improvement in health care, and substance use.

Recent projects include Tresa’s work for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network to develop and test effective messages to build support for tobacco tax increases in a number of battleground states. Tresa also led a multi-phased research project for the California Department for Alcohol and Drug Programs to develop an awareness campaign about crystal methamphetamine that targets gay men and resulted in the Me Not Meth campaign. Finally, Tresa conducted groundbreaking research for the Human Rights Campaign on measuring workplace climate for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender employees.

Prior to joining LRP, Tresa worked as a Senior Research Analyst at Belden, Russonello & Stewart on a number of progressive issues. Tresa holds a master’s degree from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. A native of Minnesota (go Vikings!), she received a B.A. in English at the University of Minnesota. She is a member of the American Association of Public Opinion Research, and has been a presenter and discussant at its national conferences. Tresa’s favorite hobby is graphic design – she is currently enrolled in a master’s program at the University of Baltimore "for fun."
