Leading Democratic Polling Firm Celebrates 10th Anniversary with New Partner

Promotion of David Mermin Anchors Firm on West Coast

WASHINGTON, DC (March, 11 2005) - As Lake Snell Perry and Associates marks its 10th anniversary at the forefront of public opinion research, the firm is pleased to announce the promotion of David Mermin from senior vice president to partner. The national political strategy research firm today becomes Lake Snell Perry Mermin and Associates (LSPMA).

"Since 1996, I've been proud to work with David, and see this as a long overdue recognition of his talent and value to the firm," Celinda Lake, president of LSPMA said. "David is among the best data analysts and political strategists I know."

Mermin heads LSPMA's Oakland, CA office, where his political work includes dozens of candidates at all electoral levels, including Governor Janet Napolitano of Arizona, Governor Gary Locke of Washington and Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, as well as California specific issues, including current research on defeating Governor Schwarzenegger's ballot initiatives. Mermin's work on labor issues includes projects with the AFL-CIO, AFSCME, SEIU and the Communications Workers of America. In 2004, he led the research team for America Coming Together in seven key presidential battleground states.

"I look forward to serving LSPMA in this capacity with my work on the west coast and nationally, as we are now firmly anchored as a national and California firm," said David Mermin, new LSPMA partner. "I'm proud to join Celinda, Alysia and Michael in providing quality service and advice to progressive advocates and candidates."
